New vision, new name
God’s faithfulness remains the same.

In 2004, a group of believers first gathered in a borrowed space at a local school to worship Jesus. They formed and planted what became The Bridge, an international church with a vision to reach the local and expat communities in Kuala Lumpur.
The Bridge carried out this vision for ten years with people from all over the world calling the church their home. However, the first decade of ministry was not without hardship. 2013 proved to be the church’s most difficult year with many new and unexpected challenges to navigate.
But God was faithful…
In 2014 new leadership arrived and the church agreed to relaunch as Harvest Bible Chapel Kuala Lumpur. During the next five years, the church continued to see people from all nations and walks of life gathering around the name of Jesus, hearing and responding to the gospel, and growing in their faith.
But the church had to pivot again in 2020 as the world shut down. Because of COVID, the church was unable to meet in person for two years, and the lead pastor returned to the US. The church had to adapt and find new ways to do ministry in this season. The world and church would be different.
God remained faithful…
The church leadership didn’t always know what steps to take in the journey ahead but their eyes remained fixed on Jesus. And even amid hardship, God continued to bring the right people at the right time to serve and lead the church.
In 2022, God sent an interim pastor to help stabilize the church as it reopened. And in 2023, God led two families from partnering churches in the US to come serve the church.
And the church’s story as Garden City continues because God is faithful.
